Survivor + FoW fail = bad?
Before I go into FoW for speed clears with my monk I have a quick question. If the ghost dies and we fail does that count as a death?
Just wondering even though I'd probably just leave or exit GW before that happens. |

As a rule, I believe that mission failures are not things that count as deaths. You'd probably get a more exact answer from someone who's actually been to FoW before.

Sounds like a dangerous way to get the survivor title. You must have a lot more confidence in your FOW abilities than I do of mine. It should not count as a death:
Forced deaths occur whenever damage or health degeneration are not the cause of a character's health reaching zero. These deaths do not count towards the /death command count. In the past, a few of these (especially the cinematic deaths) were bugged and did count, but they have been fixed. ExamplesFull-party deaths: Failing a Cooperative Mission (an allied NPC dying or a timer running out, etc.). |

Cool thanks for replies. And yes I do have confiedence, 20+ runs of each UW and FoW and only 3 failures total. And I play RoJ monk so if anything I just have to w8 for other monks to go in first then go in after.
100k exp per run not including the kills. |

It shouldn't. But there are recorded cases of forced deaths counting towards your killcounter.

GL and watchout for lag.
I believe that one cinematic from Vizunnah square poses a danger with minion masters... and polymock does in certain cases. That's as far as I know. |

I can vouch that mission failures do not count... But vizhuna can count sometimes, I've lost 1 or 2 survs on that mission...

Do you have another character you can take in and see if your death counter goes up when you fail?

Not a survivor but I can always pay 1k to go in and just pull to fail. I'll try it this weekend and post it here unless someone gets to it before me.
And polmock does count towards death, wiki said so. It also said that ciniematics don't count bu then again bugs are bugs |

It's not the cinematic in Vizunah Square. It's the minions going berzerk and killing you - not the scripted deaths.

Number of deaths upon zoning into FoW:
Number of deaths after Rastigan's defeat: It doesn't count as a death. |

I wouldn't take the risk. Scripted deaths are not the only danger in FoW. As a rule of thumb: Stay out of any high-end mission if you go for survivor. We have elite skill capping and dwarven boxing for that.

after wiki:
Not all deaths are counted as deaths by "/deaths" command. The following circumstances will not affect the progress of Survivor: ... -Deaths due to mission failure (i.e. due to loss of a mission-critical NPCs or locations) or resignation (the "/resign" command). ... |

Its not that I don't accept it but like people have said sometimes it is bugged and counts as a death so I might as well go try it myself first.
Also last I checked wiki didn't say anything about npcs did they? If they did then I missed it. |

The main reason why some of the deaths by cinematic (ie end of Viz) affect death count is due to the actions of minions. You get killed in a scripted death in the cutscene (no effect on death count) which makes all the minions masterless, so you get attacked and killed in the rest of the cutscene.
As others say, mission failures and scripted deaths don't add to death count |
